A SHORTCUT TO YOUR LITTLE BOT

Keep the preview close.

Install the browser preview for an app-like window and a desktop or home-screen icon. This adds the interface and sample experience; it doesn’t install a language model.

THE NEXT PRODUCT RELEASE

A simpler desktop setup.

A finished desktop installer can bundle the model setup, device checks, and updates into one guided flow. That release needs your team’s model integration and packaging. The starter is the working foundation for it.

Python isn’t installed. What should I do?

The starter needs Python 3.10 or newer on your computer. Get Python from the official website and follow its instructions for your operating system. Reopen the extracted folder, then run the launcher again. You can use the browser preview while your team helps with the local setup.

The Mac or Linux launcher won’t open.

Open a terminal in the extracted folder and use the command shown above. On macOS, sh launch-nibdoo.command is another way to launch the script. On Linux, use sh launch-nibdoo.sh. The README includes the manual startup path.

The browser didn’t open automatically.

Leave the launcher running, then open http://127.0.0.1:8000/workspace.html in your browser. This address is on your computer. If startup reports that the port is in use, follow the port option in the README.

Why does it say “API fixture” or “sample”?

The starter’s example proves that the interface and API can talk to each other. Its answers are fixed examples. Your development team connects its model code to provide real model responses and actual source references.

How do I sign in to my team’s Nibdoo?

Use the workspace link your organization provides. Its sign-in service and permissions are part of that deployment. This preview doesn’t create accounts, and the local development starter is intended for one user on their own computer.

Can I use this without internet?

The downloaded starter serves the interface and example API on your own computer. A real offline assistant also needs the model, knowledge, and all of their dependencies installed locally. The browser preview’s cached sample experience is separate from that model setup.
